Jennifer Holthaus Director |
Jennifer Holthaus is the founding director of the John D. Rockefeller 3RD
Scholars Program, which supports bi-country applied research on environment
and agriculture challenges in Asia. Ms. Holthaus also manages Winrock's
endowment-funded Innovation Investment Program, which supports the development
of new initiatives at Winrock. Current areas receiving seed funding include
water, information and communication technologies for rural development
(ICTD), climate change and bioenergy. Prior to joining Winrock, Ms. Holthaus
was a research associate in the Packard Foundation's Conservation and Science
Program. She managed research and evaluation for the program's $60 million
grant-making portfolio in the Pacific Rim. She has lived and worked in the
Dominican Republic and Colombia as an environmental consultant. Ms. Holthaus
received an M.A. in energy and resources from University of California at
Berkeley and an M.S. in environmental engineering from Stanford University.

Jeffrey Apigian Program Associate |
Jeffrey Apigian supports the JDR 3RD Scholars Program and several other
initiatives within the Innovation Investment Program. He joined Winrock
after three years working with NGOs and community groups in South Asia on
issues related to water and energy. Most notably, Mr. Apigian worked with
Nepal Water for Health (NEWAH), where he assisted in the development and
implementation of appropriate technologies for community-based water
resource management. Mr. Apigian has an M.A. in environmental science
and policy from Clark University and a B.S. from Bates College in Lewiston, ME.
