DeAnn McGrew, Winrock’s Senior Director of Program Delivery, establishes and promotes standard project management practices that include technical, financial and operational management improving Winrock’s delivery of programs worldwide. McGrew has more than 20 years of experience with Winrock designing and implementing rural development projects in agriculture, environment, education, civil society and governance in more than 35 countries. McGrew first joined Winrock as a recruiter supporting projects utilizing skilled volunteers, including the USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer program, where she was responsible for finding and fielding volunteers on technical assignments that ranged from managing clubroot disease of cruciferous vegetables in Nepal to promoting bio-secure poultry farming in Kenya. Following her time as a recruiter, McGrew worked her way up through the programs’ job ladder, managing increasingly complex projects, programs and portfolios. During her tenure at Winrock, McGrew led the organization’s engagement efforts with Cuba, as bilateral relationships improved beginning in 2015, and was also a key player in the organization’s critical programming in South Sudan and Myanmar. McGrew is an experienced collaborator, a creative problem-solver, and an inquisitive and capable leader who is passionate about Winrock’s legacy and mission and about supporting the organization’s program delivery to deepen our collective impact on the people we serve around the world. She has a B.A. in history and sociology from the University of Central Arkansas.
