Nicolas Villeminot

Technical Director, Water

Winrock’s new Technical Director for Water, Nicolas Villeminot, is an environmental engineer with over 15 years of international experience in Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and project management in diverse settings. He oversees all of Winrock’s water programs and cross-sectoral approaches, ensuring that technical implementation is in line with industry best practice. Villeminot brings a comprehensive skillset combining expertise in WASH and public health, with extensive integration of social behavior change, nutrition, health, disaster-risk management, livelihoods, markets, agriculture, education and protection. He has designed, managed and supported relief and development projects in over 25 countries in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean with a portfolio of up to USD $20 million annually. He is familiar with project design and implementation in such contexts as natural disasters, active conflicts, post-conflict, and recovery and disease outbreaks; and he is adept at resilience efforts, sustainable development, risk prevention and emergency preparedness in rural, urban, peri-urban and camp settings. A thought leader with many published articles, Villeminot has been the lead author on various technical manuals for WASH and has raised the profile of organizations through his publications and conference presentations. He received an MsC Engineer Diploma from the Ecole des Mines de Douai in France.
