The scholarships provide about 50% of the estimated stipend, and research support for up to three years for a BSc degree in Agricultural Extension (available in Ethiopia, Mali, Nigeria, or Tanzania) and up to 2 years for a Diploma degree (only available in Mali). This amounts to an annual support of USD 1,600 for BSc. Scholars and USD 1,100 for Diploma scholars. Winrock will make scholarship payments once per six months (twice annually). The support can be used for any study related expenses including tuition, examination fees, research expenses, laptops and/or living expenses. All scholarships are subject to satisfactory academic progress.
All applicants must have at least 5 years of field experience in rural services and seeking a BSc degree or Diploma degree (only available in Mali). Scholarships are limited to students enrolled in any of the following universities/colleges:
All awards are based on Merit (academic record, work experience, community service, leadership, special talent or skills, participation in community activities, and work experience).
The Selection Committee may take financial needs into consideration as well. The Selection Committee will make a recommendation to Winrock International who will make the final decision.

Completed applications will be read and scored by the Selection Committee, then sent to the Management Committee at Winrock for final approval. Applicants will be notified whether or not they have been selected to receive a scholarship.
