A TASTE OF LAOS: The cupping was virtual … but the coffee was real
In one of the more creative COVID-19 responses, packets of Lao coffee beans were sent to tasters around the world, who ground, brewed and sipped the coffee as part of the first-ever virtual cupping of Lao specialty beans. Organized by the Coffee Quality Institute and Winrock’s Creating Linkages for Expanded Agriculture Networks (CLEAN) project, the event connected small farmers in Laos with the high-value U.S. coffee market.
