In this module, participants will learn an overview of the global and regional phenomenon of trafficking in persons, including global and regional trafficking in persons trends and legal instruments that may be engaged in the context of trafficking in persons cases. The topics covered in this module also include the core key principles that apply to all areas of anti-trafficking in persons practice, key client-care considerations, and victim identification process.
In this module, participants will learn about the international and regional legal framework related to human trafficking cases, including criminal, labour, immigration, and human rights laws. The first training will also introduce participants to the key definitions and terms such as human trafficking, forced labour, child labour, and migrant smuggling.
The module provides an overview of the procedure and practices for the identification, investigation and prosecution of trafficking-in-persons and forced labour cases in domestic criminal law. Participants will gain a better understanding of the rights of trafficking victims and forced labour victims pursuant to domestic criminal and civil law and the judicial and non-judicial remedies available to trafficking victims and forced labour victims in Bangladesh.
This module offers insight to different laws, policies, and procedures that apply in human trafficking and forced labour cases in Thailand – including relevant criminal, labour, and human rights laws.
The last module is focused on the different bases of legal action that may be available under civil law in human trafficking and/or forced labour cases in Bangladesh. In this module, participants will learn how to build, and apply case typologies as a way of developing legal strategies in human trafficking or forced labour cases. Participants will able to explore the core concepts of cross-border litigation through recent cast studies in Bangladesh and learn key legal and practical issues that arise in cross-border trafficking or forced labour cases.
The last module is focused on legal issues that arise in cross-border human trafficking or forced labour cases, or cases where there is an international element, including key legal and practical issues that arise in cross-border trafficking or forced labour cases.
