Poultry Production and Management Techniques

Winrock International requests the support of a Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer for a 18 day volunteer assignment (including travel) located in Ziguinchor, Senegal. The volunteer will help develop training materials and build the capacity of Country Farm members on poultry production and poultry farm management. The founder and owner of Country Farm wants to meet market demands and help the trainees coming in his farm to successfully transition into employment. The poultry subsector offers high potential for youth based on market opportunities in the livestock sector and with private sector employers.

The volunteer should have the following qualifications and background:

• University degree in animal science, poultry expert or another related field
• 10 years’ experience in poultry production and poultry farm management, including experience training others
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• French language skills preferred but not mandatory
