The 2022 Evidence2Action (E2A) conference is a three-day event hosted by USAID Asia CTIP, a regional USAID-funded counter-trafficking project based in Bangkok, Thailand, with support from Winrock International and Freedom Collaborative. The 3rd annual E2A will bring the Asia Pacific anti-trafficking community together virtually.

The goal of this conference is to create a sustainable learning community where participants can actively engage and learn from one another so that we can effectively take action to reduce trafficking in persons (TIP).

The Evidence2Action conference is open to all sectors involved in anti-human trafficking, such as non-governmental organizations, academia, private sectors, and government.

The conference will share the most up to date research; identify new and emerging trends in TIP; share best practices to reduce  knowledge gaps; support the building of evidence-based counter-human trafficking efforts; provide organizations and individuals with knowledge of effective tools and offer guidance on how to implement them.

This year’s Evidence2 Action Summit’s thematic areas include,

  • Virtual issues and Solutions in TIP – Social media’s role to research, monitor, gather evidence, and combat TIP – How is social media used by CTIP practitioners around the world to prevent TIP and to identify and assist victims?
  • Participation in Programming – CTIP practitioners recognize the value of survivor participation but struggle to ensure survivors’ voices in a systematic way. How do we shift and make this part of practice?
  • Climate Change and Human Trafficking – What do we really know about the relationship between human trafficking and climate change?  And what can practitioners do to combat these identified issues?
  • Private Sectors in CTIP – Why is it important that CTIP practitioners involve the private sector for preventing and combating trafficking in persons?
  • Trafficking in the News – How Investigative Journalism can help shed light on TIP issues and how media coverage can help with the fight against TIP
  • Protecting the Most Vulnerable – How GESI is important when working to combat TIP and why a victim-centered approach is critical to minimize retraumatization?
  • TIP as a result of conflict – How conflict and displacement affect human trafficking: What responses are needed in the cases of Ukraine and Myanmar?
