Winrock Experts Recognized in Soil and Water Conservation Society Awards
Climate resilient, sustainable socially responsible farming practices like regenerative grazing improve water quality, soil health and equitable food access by increasing animal and crop diversity.
Wallace Center and Winrock International leaders won a 2022 Editor’s Choice Award from the Soil and Water Conversation Society (SWCS) after contributing to a research article on regenerative grazing recommendations and resources with a team of other sustainable agriculture professionals. Published in the SWCS’ Journal of Soil and Water Conservation, the article recorded the status of regenerative agriculture in the supply chain, policy and land access as well as education and technical assistance for facilitating regenerative agriculture transitions.
The four contributors — Dr. Jon Winsten, agricultural economist with Winrock’s Ecosystem Services and Wallace’s Pete Huff, co-director, Elisabeth Spratt, project manager and Jane Jordan, program associate — were honored with the award during the SWCS International Annual Conference, held from July 31 to August 3, 2022.

Elisabeth Spratt, with Winrock International, accepted the award during the SWCS International Annual Conference.
