Kelly Thompson

Kelly Thompson, an associate director of Development at Winrock International, develops strategic partnerships with philanthropic organizations, the private sector and governments to advance solutions in agriculture, climate and economic development. Her expertise includes food systems, access to finance, carbon markets, nature-based solutions and climate resilience. Before joining Winrock, Thompson’s work supported agricultural carbon market development, regenerative agriculture adoption and corporate Scope 3 emissions reduction efforts. She has advised organizations on business development strategy and U.S. government compliance, and previously supported market-driven agricultural programs. Thompson has experience across Africa, Latin America, the Middle East, South and Southeast Asia, and the U.S. She holds a master’s degree in public policy from the University of Minnesota’s Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs.
