Lorine Giangola
Technical Director for Water
Lorine Giangola is Winrock’s technical director for water in the Agriculture, Resilience & Water unit. She specializes in integrated water resources management and climate risk management across natural resources sectors, with a focus on agricultural ecosystems. Giangola has expertise in restoring and managing agricultural, forest and coastal landscapes and watersheds for natural hydrology and water quality, drought and flood resilience, and economic productivity and rural livelihoods. Her work has also focused on women’s livelihoods and access to water and climate adaptation strategies. She has extensive experience working with diverse stakeholders − including national and subnational governments, the private sector, farmers, women and youth, and Indigenous peoples − to facilitate restoration planning and climate adaptation planning and financing for water resources, agriculture, biodiversity, climate-resilient infrastructure and other sectors. Giangola is an experienced project manager for USAID and other clients. Previously she held positions at DAI and Abt Global. She has a bachelor’s degree in environmental sciences from the University of Virginia and a master’s and doctorate in environmental policy from the University of Colorado Boulder.
