Global Nestlé Net Zero Project

Nestlé has committed to reducing its greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 20 percent by 2025, to cut its GHG emissions in half by 2030, and to achieve net zero by 2050 – even as its business continues to grow. (For more details, see Nestlé Net Zero Roadmap.) Winrock International is supporting Nestlé to identify reduction and removals projects within their value chains that support this goal. Through its Emission Reduction & Removal Request for Proposals (RFP), Nestlé aims to complement and expand a project portfolio to achieve its emission reduction targets, beginning in 2021.The RFP will help Nestlé to identify, validate and build a carbon reduction and removal project portfolio that delivers measurable SBTi-aligned GHG emissions reductions and removals. It focuses on projects that:

  1. Are connected directly or indirectly to Nestlé value chains ── primarily dairy products, fresh milk, cocoa, coffee, vegetable fats and oils (including palm oil), meat, cereals and grains; and
  2. Deliver impact at scale and/or innovative interventions that lead to scalable projects, beginning in 2021-2022 and expanding over the next 3-5 years.
