LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Aug. 12, 2025 — Winrock International is pleased to announce the addition of two renowned leaders to its board of directors: Ross DeVol, chairman emeritus and distinguished fellow at Heartland Forward, and Suzanne E. Siskel, former executive vice president and chief operating officer of The Asia Foundation. Siskel is rejoining Winrock’s Board, having previously served as a valued member.
“We are honored to welcome Ross and to welcome Suzanne back to Winrock’s Board of Directors,” said Winrock President and CEO Maqsoda Maqsodi. “Their leadership and expertise will strengthen Winrock’s work both globally and here at home. As one of the few international development organizations with deep experience implementing a range of agricultural, environmental, economic development, and maternal health programs in the U.S., we are excited to continue expanding our impact with the guidance of these two incredibly accomplished board members.”
A social anthropologist and experienced nonprofit leader, Siskel brings more than four decades of expertise in international development and philanthropy. In addition to her former roles at The Asia Foundation, she held senior leadership positions at the Ford Foundation, including global director of Community and Resource Development and of Social Justice Philanthropy, and served earlier as representative in Indonesia and the Philippines. Siskel began her career in Indonesia as a Luce Scholar in 1974 and later returned as a Fulbright scholar, university teacher, development advisor with USAID and philanthropic leader.
DeVol brings decades of experience in economic research and policy innovation. At Heartland Forward, DeVol has led groundbreaking initiatives aimed at accelerating economic growth across America’s heartland. Under his leadership, the organization received the 2025 National Venture Capital Association Impact Award for its work supporting entrepreneurship. DeVol’s thought leadership has been featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and Axios, and he has authored op-eds in regional media outlets including the Dallas Morning News and Chicago Tribune. Prior to Heartland Forward, DeVol served as chief research officer at the Milken Institute, where he oversaw research on economic performance and health-related issues.
With the addition of DeVol and Siskel, the Winrock Board continues to reflect a dynamic group of visionary leaders committed to supporting Winrock’s evolution and maximizing the organization’s ability to drive transformative, positive change in the U.S. and around the world.
