Milk Processing and Preservation Techniques

Winrock International seeks a Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer for a 17-day assignment (inclusive of travel) in Kaolack commune, Senegal. The selected volunteer will conduct training sessions on milk composition and properties, focusing on the physical, chemical, and biological changes that occur during processing and storage. Additionally, the volunteer will educate participants on dairy processing technologies, key operational techniques, and the production of dairy products such as butter, cheese, and yogurt. The volunteer will also provide insights on new dairy products that are both suitable and marketable in Senegal and recommend appropriate packaging solutions for milk products.
Qualifications
and Background for the Volunteer:
· University degree in dairy
products, food science, or a related field.
· Experience with modern and
efficient equipment for milk processing and preservation.
· At least 10 years of
experience in milk processing, with a focus on cheese and yogurt production,
including training experience.
· Strong written and verbal
communication skills.
·
French language skills preferred but not required.
