Training in Mobilizing Internal and External Resources

Location: Dubreka, Guinea

Assignment Number: GUI317

Volunteers Requested: 1

Recruiter: Jennifer Robinson | Jennifer.Robinson@winrock.org |

The Rice Federation of Lower Guinea (Fédération des Riziers de la Basse Guinée – FEDERIZ-BG) seeks the support of a Farmer-to-Farmer (F2F) volunteer for a 17-day assignment (including travel) in Dubreka. The volunteer will focus on enhancing participants’ skills in identifying, attracting, and effectively utilizing both internal and external resources to support FEDERIZ’s objectives. Training will cover resource assessment, gap identification, and potential opportunities within and beyond the organization. By the end of the assignment, participants will have developed a practical, step-by-step resource mobilization plan that will empower them to secure and manage resources more efficiently, contributing to FEDERIZ’s long-term sustainability. Additionally, the volunteer will introduce new techniques and ideas to help establish a foundational “farming as a business” structure for the organization.

FEDERIZ has previously benefited from volunteer support through the former Winrock F2F program, which helped them produce high-quality rice that meets national standards, enabling active participation in national markets. However, their current challenge is managing the resources generated from these activities and securing international funds. To achieve long-term sustainability and self-reliance, FEDERIZ needs to strengthen its capacity to mobilize and manage both internal and external resources. This training will equip them with the tools and strategies needed to optimize resource utilization and build financial autonomy.
