Business Plan Development for Solidarité
Location: Dalaba, Guinea
Assignment Number: GUI323
Volunteers Requested: 1
Recruiter: Jennifer Robinson | Jennifer.Robinson@winrock.org |
Winrock International is seeking a dedicated and experienced Farmer-to-Farmer volunteer for a 15-day assignment in Dalaba, Guinea, including travel. The volunteer will provide comprehensive training to National NGO Guinean Solidarity for Development (SGPD) members on developing business plans, identifying financial opportunities, and applying for loans, grants, or international subventions.
SGPD requires financial resources (cash flow) to sustain its activities and operations but lacks the expertise to create a business plan or navigate the documentation and procedures required by microfinance institutions and banks.
This assignment aims to empower SGPD with the necessary knowledge and skills to develop business plans, access loans, and capitalize on other financial opportunities.
Upon arrival, the volunteer will visit both bank and non-bank financial institutions to thoroughly understand the country’s loan requirements. Through practical, hands-on training, SGPD members will acquire the competencies needed to navigate Guinea’s economic landscape confidently. This foundational work will enhance the organization’s resilience and contribute to the prosperity of the local agricultural community.
The volunteer should have the
following qualifications and background:
· University degree/technical school in agribusiness,
finance, agriculture, or another relevant field.
· At least five years of practical experience in the
private sector (business, finance, or another relevant sector).
· Prior experience developing strategic and business
plans or assisting organizations to build these plans.
· Experience in securing credit/loans, grants, or other
types of funding from external agencies (microfinance institutions or
grant-making institutions).
· Skills in mastering the concept of credit, its
management, and loan repayment.
· Good written and spoken French language skills are desired.
Winrock will provide a translator if needed.
