Jennifer Holthaus

Associate Director, Clean Energy & Circular Economy

Jennifer Holthaus, associate director with Winrock’s Clean Energy & Circular Economy group, focuses on designing, managing and distilling thought leadership from projects related to productive use of renewable energy and access to clean energy. Her technical expertise includes collaborating with the private sector, government and nonprofit partners to create commercial markets for productive use energy technologies that work for rural, off-grid communities. During her 20-year tenure with Winrock, she has implemented clean energy and applied policy research programs in Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Kenya and Ethiopia, and contributed to the design of successful programs in Nepal, Nigeria, the Republic of Georgia and the Dominican Republic. She began her career at the international development nonprofit Thousand Currents (formerly known as IDEX) and later worked in the David and Lucile Packard Foundation’s Conservation and Science group. Holthaus holds a master’s in environmental engineering from Stanford University and a master’s in energy and resources from the University of California at Berkeley.
