Fernando Gutiérrez-Sol

Senior Director & Corporate Controller Fernando Gutiérrez-Sol has more than three decades of experience in finance, operations, risk and compliance, as well as an extensive background in management consulting and government contracting. Prior to joining Winrock, Fernando worked at MITRE Corporation as senior principal and head of internal audit and consulting, where he oversaw nearly $3 billion in engineering contracts and played an important role in raising enterprise risk awareness and establishing risk mitigation priorities, including cybersecurity, government compliance, AI governance and financial reporting. Fernando also previously worked with Lockheed Martin and SAIC, and helped launch KPMG’s contractor services consulting practice, specializing in accounting, government risk and compliance matters, business process improvements and implementing control practices adaptive to regulatory changes.

He is fluent in English, Spanish and French, and sits on the board of the Latino Corporate Network for Washington, D.C., championing results-oriented leading practices in ERG strategy across the area’s largest employers. Fernando is an active member of national organizations including the Association of Latino Professionals for America, the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers, and Prospanica. He has a bachelor’s degree in history and political economics from Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut, and a Master of Business Administration from Johns Hopkins University.
