Katie Lazar

Katie Lazar, Winrock International’s associate director of development, leads strategic growth initiatives and proposal development for Winrock’s global portfolio in climate change mitigation and adaptation, clean energy, climate finance, and nature-based solutions. She plays a central role in expanding Winrock’s presence across Asia, Latin America and the Caribbean, and sub-Saharan Africa, while strengthening partnerships with multilateral institutions, foundations, corporate partners and bilateral donors. Lazar brings over seven years of experience in international development business development. Before joining Winrock, she held roles at Tetra Tech and the Volunteers for Economic Growth Alliance, where she led and supported more than 100 proposals across five continents, helping secure nearly $200 million in new funding from USAID, the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the World Bank and other major funders. She holds a master’s degree in international economic relations from American University, where she received the Louis W. Goodman Award for Outstanding Academic Performance. She earned her bachelor’s degree in international relations and Spanish from Florida State University, and studied abroad in Valencia, Spain.
