Panama
Winrock’s work in Panama began in the early 1990s, when the USAID-funded Farmer-to-Farmer program provided technical assistance and training to the nation’s small and medium-scale farmers. Since then, our work in the country has expanded to include environmental concerns as well as agricultural ones: environmental sustainability and land use change, access to sustainable energy and watershed management. Most recently, Winrock has promoted human rights in Panama, working with the government to create and implement policies to reduce the prevalence of child labor in the country.
