Estimating the Carbon Benefits of US Landscape Conservation and Restoration

Project Title: Development of Methods and Protocols for Calculating the Carbon Sequestration Benefits of National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Projects

Preventing habitat degradation and restoring landscapes can significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Winrock International is developing methods, protocols and a tool to calculate the annual carbon benefits of conservation and restoration projects funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, a key conservation funder in the US. This tool will also be essential for companies to understand the potential climate benefits of their investments in value chain emissions mitigation through landscape restoration and conservation.
