Legacy Project

Tanzania WARIDI

Reliable access to water is critical for Tanzania’s economy, food security, environmental sustainability and public health. USAID’s Water Resources Integration Development Initiative (WARIDI) promotes integrated water resources management and service delivery to address water security challenges across Tanzania and ensure reliable and sustainable access to water. Winrock leads several components of the program, including working with Local Government Authorities (LGAs) to increase access to improved water services through direct service provision and capacity building, increasing access to improved sanitation, and working with partners to improve private sector participation in the water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) sector, and raise awareness about the importance of good sanitation and hygiene practices.
