Julie Nash

Director, Ecosystem Services

Julie Nash, director of Ecosystem Services, leads Winrock’s global work on forests and ecosystem services. She has more than 20 years of experience in forest and ecosystem services research across 20 countries, along with more than a decade of expertise in greenhouse gas accounting and measurement, reporting and verification systems. Nash brings deep expertise in international forest protection and management, carbon accounting and biodiversity conservation. She leads the Ecosystem Services team in advancing rigorous GHG measurement and monitoring in forests while strengthening knowledge management systems that convert complex environmental research into decision-ready insights, supporting the mobilization of climate investment and forest finance at scale. Prior to joining Winrock, Julie served as program director of the food and forest team at Ceres, where she worked with investors and companies to advance climate action. She brings significant direct experience from the food sector, which informs her current work on climate, agriculture and forestry solutions. Nash holds a doctorate in natural resources from the University of Vermont, an MBA from the University of Virginia, and a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.
