BC/TIP Communications and Outreach
BC/TIP’s communications and outreach activities promoted information about the program’s experience and knowledge. Although the program did not have a dedicated communications team, the program team carried out communications/outreach activities successful in informing the stakeholders and beneficiaries about the program’s achievements. The program shared important messages on prevention, protection, prosecution, and partnership for reducing the prevalence of human trafficking, gender-based violence, and child marriage in Bangladesh such as:
- BC/TIP published a quarterly electronic newsletter sharing information, achievements, learnings, and challenges.
- BC/TIP produced and disseminated a set of IEC materials on the promotion of safe migration and prevention of human trafficking. A total of fifteen different IEC were distributed at local and national campaign events, trainings, workshops, and among stakeholders from government and non-government organizations.
- BC/TIP developed 25 referral directories (for 23 Districts and 2 Upazilas) where all District level service providers committed to ensuring comprehensive support for trafficking victims and survivors. All the directories are being used by stakeholders including district administrations.
- The program printed and distributed 8,000 copies of the NPA, 40,000 copies of a booklet on the NPA and PSHTA, and 30,000 copies of a booklet on CM. These were distributed among stakeholders mainly through MOHA, local administrations, and BC/TIP partners.
- BC/TIP developed five e-learning audio-visual training modules for the promotion of safe migration and prevention of human trafficking. Through successful advocacy with a2i under GOB’s ICT division, all modules are now available on a2i web portal (MUKTAPAATH) for mass awareness. These modules are open to anyone with an internet connection. Participants receive a certificate upon completing the modules.
