Forestry & Natural Resource Management
Winrock’s Forestry & Natural Resources Management team promotes sustainability, economic resilience and applies science to address some of the most profound impacts of global environmental degradation and biodiversity loss. Those impacts include deepening ecosystem disruption including the loss of forests and other critical terrestrial habitats, food scarcity and water insecurity, and intensifying natural disasters resulting from climate change. Environmental degradation and biodiversity loss have profound impacts globally. They disrupt ecosystems, threaten food and water security, and exacerbate natural disasters, which compromise the well-being of present and future generations. We promote environmental sustainability and economic resilience across the globe to mitigate and adapt to these pressures by applying science to restore and manage natural resources.
AVOIDING DOUBLE COUNTING IN JURISDICTIONAL REDD+: A Practical Assessment Tool

Developed by Winrock International under Offset National Emissions through Sustainable Landscapes project (funded by the U.S. Department of State), this tool offers a structured self-assessment for jurisdictions to identify where and how double-counting risks could arise in their REDD+ programs.
