Maqsoda Maqsodi

President and Chief Executive Officer

Winrock President and CEO Maqsoda Maqsodi has over 20 years of experience in the nonprofit and for-profit international development sectors working to decrease global disparities. Her expertise in business development, strategic planning, operations and programmatic impact spans many sectors, including health, democracy and governance, economic growth, and strategic information. Prior to joining Winrock, she served as president and CEO of IntraHealth International. During her tenure there, she developed a seven-year strategic plan focused on transforming the organization to align with localization, established regional hubs to support programming and growth, led the organization’s diversification strategy by successfully cultivating new partners and significantly increased organizational visibility and outreach. Her prior experience includes six years at Chemonics International, where she held leadership positions including senior operations director and acting senior vice president and served as project director of the $77 million Afghanistan Trade and Revenue Project, among other roles. Prior to Chemonics, she spent seven years at AECOM in senior management and director-level positions, including on projects in Afghanistan and Sri Lanka.

Maqsodi is an active champion of diversity, equity and inclusion and is dedicated to furthering Winrock’s ongoing efforts to build and maintain the most inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace environment and organization imaginable. She has a bachelor’s degree in international studies from American University in Washington, D.C. Maqsodi speaks Spanish, Dari, Hindi, and is proficient in Sinhala.
