Winrock International is proud to support Nestlé’s science-based targets and broader net zero ambitions by providing technical advisory support to Nestlé’s procurement team and suppliers and validating supplier greenhouse gas reduction projects. These efforts are a crucial part of Nestlé’s strategy to decarbonize its Scope 3 supply chain emissions. As part of this partnership, Winrock provides technical advisory services, project validation and capacity-building support to suppliers. These activities aim to foster a robust pipeline of projects for climate investment.

Winrock’s technical advisory services include supporting Nestlé’s procurement and sustainability teams and their suppliers on critical topics related to climate mitigation, which are coordinated and targeted to build understanding of GHG emissions accounting standards and project quality.

Project validation work focuses on verifying that proposed projects are technically sound, align with the GHG Protocol, Science-Based Targets initiative, internal Nestlé standards, and deliver measurable emissions reductions.

In 2024, Winrock validated hundreds of impactful GHG emission reduction and removal projects across Nestlé’s global supply chain. This is in addition to supporting Nestlé and its  suppliers on numerous technical advisory requests. Winrock’s work is meaningfully contributing to Nestle’s strategy to invest $3.5 billion by 2025 in initiatives toward net zero, including $1.3 billion to help spark regenerative agriculture across their supply chain by 2025.

Winrock remains committed to supporting Nestlé’s decarbonization, expanded technical advisory services and refined project validation processes.
