Dipta Rakshit
Project Director, Ashshash Phase II

Dipta Rakshit, project director of Ashshash Phase II, is a human rights activist and trainer, nonprofit manager, theater musician promoting social issues through live performance, human trafficking expert and consultant in developing services for and outreach to disenfranchised people, particularly women and children. She previously served as senior program manager for Winrock’s Actions for Combating Trafficking in Persons program, promoting rights-based services and improved case management for survivors of human trafficking. She also previously worked as cultural organizer, assistant manager, and program coordinator for the Bangladesh Institute of Theatre Arts, developing and managing programs to promote rights of and support the well-being of women and children; and has conducted consultancies with organizations including the NGO Forum, the Christian Teachers’ Association, Save the Children, and Bangladesh Shisu Adikar Forum. An ardent activist and champion of human equality and equal access for all, Rakshit holds a bachelor’s degree in zoology and a master’s degree in fisheries/limnology from Chittagong University in Bangladesh.
