Elizabeth Gomez

Associate Director, Human & Community Development

Elizabeth Gomez, associate director of Winrock’s Human & Community Development team, focuses on rural transformation. She spearheads Winrock’s Mid-South regional programming in public health, placemaking, digital equity and rural leadership development, empowering communities to drive their own improvement. With more than 20 years of experience, Gomez has devoted her career to serving historically underserved populations. Her experience spans research, family counseling, organizational consulting, adult education and project management across the healthcare, education and social justice sectors. Prior to Winrock, Gomez directed federal education grants at the Arkansas Department of Education, ensuring programmatic efficiency and regulatory compliance in financial oversight, monitoring and evaluation. She is passionate about creating opportunities that empower women, youth and communities through educational equity and economic development. Originally from Venezuela, Gomez immigrated to the U.S. over a decade ago and proudly calls Arkansas home. She actively volunteers with Hispanic community organizations.
